Lauren Eliza is a UK based Media Hair and Makeup Artist specialising in Special Effects for Film and Television, currently completing a BA (Hons) in Media Hair and Makeup for TV and Film. Her work focuses on prosthetics, character creation and narrative driven design, combining technical skill with creative storytelling.Â

She has developed a broad skill set including sculpting, mould making and producing silicone prosthetic appliances, as well as their application and colouring for on set realism. Her work ranges from realistic SFX such as burns, wounds and infections to prosthetic design for character based projects and fantasy.Â
​
Alongside prosthetics, Lauren has experience in postiche for facial hair work and wig styling, allowing her to contribute to the full visual outcome of a character design. Lauren also undertakes basic life casting, including face and ear casts, to support the creation of customised pieces.Â

Her creative approach is grounded in character storytelling. Where she develops detailed backstories to inform design choices as well as undergoing intensive research to inform creative briefs, ensuring each look is visually effective, accurate and believable within its narrative.Â
​
Lauren has collaborated with photographers, videographers, performers, concept artists and 3D designers, and she brings a positive, adaptable and team-focused attitude to all projects.

Lauren is currently seeking opportunities within the film and television industry or collaborative projects, as well as commissions for prosthetic design and creation.Â

QUALIFICATIONS
Level 3 Media Hair and Makeup - June 2023
Provided a foundation in makeup artistry, covering techniques such as tanning, brows, lashes, health and safety, skin, and bridal makeup, alongside introductory editorial work. This course also introduced basic special effects, aging techniques, body art and airbrushing. Â
Foundation Degree in Media Hair and Makeup - June 2025
Developed skills in special effects and prosthetics, including designing, making, and applying silicone pieces and basic bespoke appliances. Additional training included postiche, historical makeup (both SFX and Fashion), and avant-garde wig styling.
BA (Hons) in Media Hair and Makeup (Film and TV) - June 2026
Focused on advanced prosthetic work and independent creative practice, including custom-designed pieces, bald caps, and life casting (face and ears). This includes the creation of silicone ear prosthetics, prosthetic masks, and the development of original designs for a self directed project with a collaborative team.
